Welcome Pastor Jenifer Daley

This past Sabbath Pioneer welcomed our new Associate Pastor for Administration, Jenifer Daley. She is no stranger either to this campus or our congregation.

Pastor Jenifer Daley grew up on the tropical island of Jamaica and was graduated from the University of the West Indies in preparation for a career in finances. Eventually going into banking, she moved to the United Kingdom where she achieved her Chartered Certified Accountant, the British equivalent of a CPA. Furthering her career she subsequently pursued a Ph.D. in Economics and Banking (University of Wales, Cardiff).

During these years, however, she sensed God’s calling to go deeper into His Word. Obedient to that direction, she eventually enrolled at here at Andrews University, where she completed her studies for a Ph.D. in Systematic Theology at the Seminary and was graduated a year ago.

What drew her to our attention here at Pioneer were two volunteer activities she initiated: (1) she joined our Treasury team as a volunteer, entering financial data into our computer; and (2) she became a regular member of our Wednesday evening House of Prayer experience, eventually assisting the pastors in leading out in the praise-study-prayer services. She is also presently serving on our Volunteer Engagement Committee (Nominating Committee) with David Nowack and that team.

When Pastor Jose Bourget became the Lead Chaplain at Andrews last fall, we began our search for his replacement. As I expressed Sabbath, it soon became clear to us that God not only drew Jenifer Daley to us at Pioneer, and he also drew our attention to her as she served this congregation.

The administration of the Michigan Conference of Seventh-day Adventists formally invited her to become a pastor in this conference and this congregation a week ago, when her new visa was granted. And we are grateful for the way God has providentially opened the doors for Pastor Jenifer to join our team.

Her unique skills in financial analysis and systems operation, her passion for the Word of God, and her contagious love of Jesus and love for people are special gifts for such a time as this. Please join us in your personal and warm welcome (even in this unusual time of the pandemic) when you see her in worship on Sabbaths. Welcome, Pastor Jenifer Daley!
