Abstract

Osher will present research about the importance of and relationship between conditions for academic learning and SEL, the increasing body of evidence on the effects of SEL on learning, social development, and school quality and how they can be measured and improved.

In doing so he will draw upon both his work and the work of his AIR colleagues in studying these relationships, developing tools to efficiently measure school climate and conditions for learning and interventions that have been demonstrated to improve these measures.
