Maungatapu underpass community day

Would you like to be among the first to walk or cycle through the new Maungatapu underpass before it opens to traffic? Then come to the community day on Sunday,
27 May, from 10am to 3pm.

There will be food and refreshments, kids’ activities and local entertainment. Plus be in to win an electric bike.

Free buses will operate from park and ride at Toi Ohomai and Waipuna Park.

Entry is free. We hope you can join us on the day!

Getting to and from the community day

Free buses
Free buses will be operating from the park and ride at Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology campus on Windermere Drive, and from Waipuna Park on Kaitemako Road.
These will operate from 10am to 3pm, approximately every 15-20 minutes to and from the community day site. A mobility bus will be available from the Toi Ohomai park and ride site.

Walking and Cycling
If you are walking or cycling to the community day, please use designated routes to ensure your safety. Please do not attempt to cross the Maungatapu roundabout - use the pedestrian underpasses and overbridge.

SH29A Poike Overbridge and shared cycleway
The new Poike overbridge and shared cycleway is approximately a 2km from the community day. Bike racks will be available at the event.

Parking
There is limited on street parking in the area. You are encouraged to use the free buses from the park and ride locations or use designated pedestrian routes. There will not be vehicle access to the event from Hammond Street.
