Support For Local Artists We've had an incredible response to the City of Charles Sturt Creative Cities Program which aims to support our local artists and arts organisation and enhance our community wellbeing after a significant disruption to our cultural life. $200k Grants Package For Small Business The City of West Torrens' Small Business Resilience Grants comprises of three small business grants, ranging between $2,000 and $5,000 for small businesses located in West Torrens. Metropolitan Fresh Findon - SA's Best Greengrocer 2020 We were delighted to hear that Metropolitan Fresh Findon had been voted the best greengrocer in SA after more than 1,300 votes were cast in The Messenger's recent poll. “We do everything we can to keep our customers coming back, from the start of the shopping experience right to the end,” Mrs Clift said. Mrs Clift’s parents, Michael and Enza Manov, bought the store, in the Findon Shopping Centre, 31 years ago, when she was three months old. Developing Skills and New Opportunities Creating a thriving Western Adelaide Region is dependent on a resilient business community. The following section outlines some of the new opportunities to support the development of key skills and knowledge base to increase job and new market opportunities. Roads2Civils Launch We were delighted to support the launch of the Roads2Civil pilot project being delivered by Henley High School and the Western Adelaide Secondary Schools Network (WASSN) in partnership with the City of Charles Sturt, Civil Train, Civil Apprenticeships and Careers Ltd and Renewal SA’s Works Program. This is a fantastic opportunity for students who are interested in a trades pathway and want to develop enterprise and employability skills to participate in a modern workplace while gaining skills in the civil construction industry. In response to the current challenges we are seeking to increase our support and level of collaboration in building the skills of our businesses and community", City of Charles Sturt Mayor Angela Evans When asked about this opportunity, Eddie Fabijan, Principal of Henley High School said that "this is an excellent new initiative that seeks to find a learning pathway that leads to real career opportunities. I believe this approach will become the model for all schools to use in helping their students."
