HANDMADE BIKE & BEER FESTIVAL

September 27-28

The Handmade Bike & Beer Festival is already around the corner! On September 27-28, two of Portland's favorite things will come together for one glorious weekend. We've combined our annual Biketobeerfest with OBCA's Oregon Handmade Bicycle Show. The result is a family-friendly event that features custom frame builders showing handmade bicycles, local brewers pouring hand-crafted beers, and live music from area artists. Check out some of the fest's features below, and...

The Beer

Hopworks will serve up our handcrafted beer alongside many of the other regional breweries that we know and enjoy. You can also expect to see beer from Widmer Brothers, Deschutes, Grain Station, Pfriem, Ex Novo, and others. For cider lovers we will have cider available from Cider Riot! and Reverend Nat's.

The Bikes

The festival features 30 custom bike builders and vendors who follow the long tradition of crafting beautiful bikes by hand. Highlighting their refined craft, builders will display a wide range of bikes from road bikes to custom cargo bikes. Here’s just a few of the classic and up and coming builders you will see: Machine Cycles – Kyle Ward, Pioneer Bicycle Co – Jason Gayton, Circa Cycles, and Ahearne Cycles. Check out the list of builders and vendors here.

MUSIC

Dance to the tunes of The Israelites, the legendary ska band. We'll also have some awesome Pacific Northwest bands including There Is No Mountain, Bear Water Band, and Shake Up Bluegrass (previously Left Coast Country).

Activities and Music

We’re bringing back the classic “Huffy Huck” bike-throwing competition.  You'll also be able to watch some amazing dance moves because the New Birth Break Dancers will put on a great show. We're also brining back the Flatlanders, an awe-inspiring BMX stunt crew. Looking for some new activities? Try the new Tricycle Obstacle Course, a race course that features adult sized trikes.

Food

There will be some fantastic food from some of our favorite places in the city. Ruby Jewel will satisfy your sweet-tooth cravings with their delicious ice cream, and Taco Pedaler will serve up their famous tacos. But that's not all! The HUB kitchen will also be on-site with a variety of grilled sausages.

Volunteer for the festival!

50 volunteers are needed to make Handmade Bike & Beer Fest a smashing success. Each year we are grateful for the many helping hands we receive for our festival. We couldn’t have such a great event without volunteer help. Come be in the heart of the party and volunteer with us for this fantastic day.
