Lyle S. Hallman Foundation lifts all restrictions of current grants
To help grantees support their communities during these unpredictable times, the Lyle S. Hallman Foundation announced several policy changes effective immediately. Among other things, they are removing all restrictions on current grants to provide more stability and flexibility for nonprofits.

Slaight Family Foundation donates $3 million for food organizations
While many food banks have had to close due to the pandemic, four food organizations received major support from the Slaight Family Foundation. Collectively, the Breakfast Club of Canada, Daily Bread Food Bank, Food Banks Canada and Second Harvest can now focus on providing basic necessities to the most vulnerable among us.

One in five nonprofits have closed their doors - at least for now
In a flash survey published this week, the Ontario Nonprofit Network examined how organizations across the province are being impacted by COVID-19. They found that Ontario’s nonprofits and charities are facing a triple threat as a result of COVID-19: - An abrupt loss of revenue from the cancellation of fundraising events and a steep drop-off in donations;
- The closure of offices and cancellation of programs and services due to pandemic restrictions;
- An unprecedented human resource challenge in terms of both paid staff and volunteers.
