2019 - 2020 Blanket ApprovalsThe following activities have been blanket-approved for FLEX for AY 2019 - 2020. To receive FLEX credit for any of the following activities, simply submit a self-documentation form or sign-in sheet (whichever is appropriate to the activity).

Mentorship ProgramThe FLEX Faculty Mentorship Program is a professional development (PD) opportunity in which a faculty mentee works with a faculty mentor to continue to develop as a college instructor professionally and pedagogically. The mentee and mentor should identify the specific professional and pedagogical areas they would like to target for improvement and enrichment. Full-time faculty members will receive FLEX credit for their participation in this PD activity, and part-time faculty members will receive an hourly stipend equal to the standard FLEX stipend rate ($25.00/hour as of Spring 2019). Participating faculty members should stipulate how many hours they plan to devote to this activity (limited to 8 hours per faculty member). ![]() Although the specific activities performed as part of this Mentorship Program activity may vary depending on specific needs, at minimum, this Program should include (1) classroom observations, and (2) working meetings and discussions aimed at pedagogical and/or professional improvement and enrichment. FEC coordinates the FLEX Program and strives to enhance institutional programs and services for student learning and success by offering a variety of activities designed to encourage and support professional excellence among staff and faculty in their endeavors. Meeting Times & RepresentationFEC comprises representative faculty from all divisions. Check with your division chair for your FEC representative’s name—or to volunteer to be on the committee! FEC meets on the first Tuesday of each month from 1:10pm - 2:00pm in Lodgepole (Library/LRC) 210 in Visalia.
