Coronavirus (COVID-19) | Update for Residents and Families

Dear Resident Family Member,

RE: COVID-19 Update for Residents and Families - Calvary Haydon Retirement Community

Calvary is pleased to inform residents and families that at the time of writing, the number of current active cases remains ten (10) residents and four (4) members of staff.

As advised in our notification yesterday, we will issue one daily written update and call every second day unless any new developments require us to be in contact more often. This is due to the situation at Calvary Haydon remaining stable for the past five days.

We are also pleased to inform you that commencing on Monday 11 October, window visits will be available for residents and families in St Patrick, St Margaret and St Francis households. To accommodate demand, initially the visits will be limited to 30 minutes. Further, our WebEx video call service remains available to support the social connections of loved ones. Please call (02) 6264 7538  to make a booking for either a Webex Call or a Window Visit. A staff member will be available this weekend to take these bookings between 10am- 5pm.

Please be assured that our dedicated team of leisure and lifestyle staff and allied health practitioners, including physiotherapists and pastoral carers will continue to ensure the holistic care needs of all residents are met.

The re-testing of St Teresa residents and staff and Mary Potter COVID-negative residents and staff is occurring today, as advised by ACT Health. All other residents (of St Patrick, St Margaret and St Francis households) will continue to be closely monitored by our staff for any COVID-19 symptoms and we will respond with isolating a resident and ordering a COVID-19 test in the instance any symptoms are identified.

We continue to work closely with ACT Health, and will ease restrictions in movement consistent with residents of other households as soon as it is safe to do so.

Our dedicated staff continue to work diligently to keep all residents safe from infection. Our staff are trained in strict infection prevention and control protocols and continue to provide all resident care while wearing the appropriate PPE at all times.

We are pleased that the majority of residents are enjoying more physical and social freedoms and thank residents and families for your patience at this time.

We are grateful that families continue to work with us so generously to ensure the safety of your loved ones in our care.

Sincerely,

Martin Bowles, National CEO
