Protect your workplace and community from COVID-19

Resources and tools are always available at your fingertips

The most effective safety measure against COVID-19 is to stay up to date with information about the virus, learn about COVID-19 public health measures and get vaccinated. Reliable and helpful information for the community and workplace can all be found in one place, right at your fingertips.
It is important to keep our workplaces, families, and communities safe as COVID-19 cases are still active here in Niagara.

Your Health Space: A free program

The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) has developed a free program to support healthcare providers and allied health professionals working in hospitals, long-term care, as well as home, and community settings. Through interactive live workshops, and/or self-directed modules, you will learn effective strategies to address chronic workplace stress and promote psychological health and safety in the workplace.
Your mental health matters as much as the patients you are helping.

#MyReality: Understanding Psychosis

The Mental Health team with Niagara Region Public Health has launched an educational campaign entitled “#MyReality: Understanding Psychosis”. This campaign seeks to educate youth, parents/caregivers, and professionals working with youth on when/how to seek treatment for psychosis. Psychosis can be treated, and many people make a good recovery, especially if they get help early. The campaign page includes helpful information, useful resources, and campaign videos.

The Flu is Back this Season

It is important for everyone six months of age and older to get the flu shot this year, along with other protective measures such as frequent hand washing, wearing masks indoors, and staying home when you’re not feeling well.
Getting the flu shot will prevent the spread of the virus, protecting not only you but your family, friends, and co-workers too! The flu shot can be received at the same time as, or anytime before or after other vaccines (including COVID-19 vaccines).
Free flu shots are available across Niagara. Check ahead for vaccine availability.

Employee Attraction and Retention for Niagara Workplaces

Workplace cultures centering health and wellbeing tend to be most attractive!

Workforce Collective is offering an anonymized Healthy Employee Attraction & Retention survey for workplaces to help employers (leaders, HR personnel, business owners) gauge what is important to employees and job seekers, and how to best support them. This survey will be open until the end of November, is of no cost, and is open to all individuals and organizations.

Check out a recent blog, “How to Attract, Engage and Retain Employees”, which includes recommendations that can help craft employee attraction and retention strategies, informed by conversations with local employers, local data, and other insightful research.
