Facilities & Maintenance Notices

Main Entrance

As a result of improper use we have been experiencing some issues with the automated door to the Porters' Lodge in the main building. This is an 'accessible door', so please make sure that you use the push pads when entering and exiting the main building via the Porters' Lodge foyer area. The push pads are located on the right-hand pillar as you enter from the ramp and on the right-hand side of the door frame as you exit. Your co-operation in the usage of this door will be most helpful and much appreciated by the Wolfson College Maintenance Department.

Decoration Works

Decoration to Bredon House

Decoration works to Bredon House are scheduled to take place until 27 November. Dust sheets will be on the floors so please take care when accessing the staircase and communal areas.

College Recycling

When disposing of cardboard boxes please make sure they are compacted/crushed/torn/broken-up before being placed in the purple bins in the College bin compound.

This will not only help with our recycling initiative by enabling more cardboard to fit into the bins but also keep the area tidy and free from waste.

Heating Times

Heating times have recently changed to the following:
07.00 – 12.00 midday and 14.00 – 23.00

Legionella Water Works

Weekly Works:

The maintenance department undertakes essential works, one of which is to flush the water systems in all unused rooms weekly on Mondays. We are following all current Government guidelines on face masks and social distancing. For those in residence this is a polite notice to let you know why we are accessing rooms. Thank you for your co-operation.

Monthly Works:

Wolfson College has employed Jordan Environmental to undertake Legionella water testing and sampling to all buildings. Access to rooms (not those where students are quarantined or self-isolating ) will be needed and you will be emailed when this testing takes place. Jordan Environmental will follow the College risk assessment and the current Government guidelines on social distancing whilst this work takes place.
