A generous donation for Family Zone Hub

In January our manager at the Family Zone Hub in Ingle Farm came back after the holidays to find that their freezer had stopped working.

They had just faced funding cuts and she knew there was not enough room in the budget for a new one. 

Soon after, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Para Vista visited the Hub to see first hand how staff support local families. The freezer came up in conversation and soon after the church's visit staff were floored to receive a new freezer donated by the church. 

Thank you to everyone at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church for your support and to all of the congregations who support us across Adelaide, the Barossa and in Alice Springs.

Our Foster Care team attended the Adelaide Hills Farmer's Market in April to promote the importance of fostering children and raise awareness about the need for foster carers.

This Volunteer's Day We Say 'Thank you'

In May we held our annual appreciation lunch for our volunteers as part of National Volunteer's Week. Over 160 of our volunteers joined us at celebrations held in Adelaide, the Barossa and in Alice Springs.

Did you know? 

Last year we had 507 registered volunteers who donated over 24,953 hours worth at least $584,401.13! This is absolutely incredible.

We offer a range of opportunities for our volunteers. One of our most well known programs is supporting our Op Shops which includes sorting clothes, helping customers and displaying items among many other duties. 

Volunteering at LCC is more than our Op Shops, though! We also have many other opportunities available, including supporting new arrivals through mentoring, helping people in crisis with Emergency Relief, and working with local communities at Peachey Place Living Skills Centre and the Family Zone Hub.
