Welcome to this month's Global Connections. In this edition, we will share our experiences of the IEA Enneagram Europe Conference in Finland and the B Corp Champions Retreat in Toronto. We'll also offer you the opportunity to join us for our 2018 'On The Balcony at Byron', the Enneagram Immersion Experience in February 2018, A Taste of Tables of Ten in Sydney on November 8th 2017 and, finally, our end-of-year Fellowship event for 2017.
International Enneagram Association Europe Conference
With 27 countries represented, this year's IEA Europe conference, held last month in Helsinki, was truly a global event. We were so proud to be part of it, both as speakers and participants, in such a variety of workshops and presentations. What we particularly appreciated was the willingness of everyone who attended to explore and learn – regardless of their experience or expertise in the Enneagram. Our workshop 'Leading for the Future' identified the need to build emotionally healthy leaders who are more able to deal with disruption, ambiguity, complexity and chaos.
B Corp Champions Retreat
Each year, the global B Corp Community comes together to affirm and advance their commitment to harnessing the power of business to create a more shared and durable prosperity. This year's retreat was held in early October in Toronto. The focus was on interdependence: the recognition that we are each dependent on one another and thus responsible for each other and future generations.
Not only was this theme explored within the conference itself, but also in a number of pre-conference tours where we met organisations like Alvéole Urban Bee Keepers who are collaborating with the Toronto Convention Centre (just one of their locations) to produce honey on the roof of the centre itself for use in the centre. We also visited 401 Richmond, a restored, heritage-listed industrial building that houses an amazing collection of local artists, cultural organisations, social innovators and galleries, charging them well below the market rate as they believe in
supporting these people to create a city everyone belongs to.
For the diary: 'On the Balcony at Byron' 2018
Whilst it seems far away, we are already receiving enquiries about our next On The Balcony at Byron in June 2018. Come and join Cathy Duvel and Gayle Hardie for three days of relaxed and mindful practices that reconnect and revitalise your three centres – Body, Heart and Head – ultimately enhancing your wellbeing and increasing presence in your life.
Next year's 'On the Balcony' will be held from June 22 to 25. You can register now for one of just 12 places available. More details and registration here.
Enneagram Immersion – a public program
After many requests from participants and others in the Global Leadership community, Gayle and Malcolm have been encouraged to host and co-facilitate their first public Enneagram Immersion program, which will be held in February 2018.
Come and join us we bring our deep knowledge and global experience into a workshop designed to engage and build your understanding and experience of the Enneagram.
This residential program will run over three days at Country Place in the beautiful Olinda State Forest outside Melbourne, between February 21 and 23, 2018.
(This event has been rescheduled from the original dates in October 2017.)
Taste of 'Tables of Ten' Sydney
After wonderful 'Taste of Tables of Ten' sessions held in Europe and in Melbourne earlier this year, we are now offering the opportunity to attend one of these complimentary sessions in Sydney. We will hold a 'Taste of Tables of Ten' in Sydney on November 8.
This two-hour session provides an overview of our global ‘Tables of Ten’ initiative. The session will explore the nine-month journey that you would take, link you in to like-minded people across the globe and give you a taste of what is in store each time you come together.
Global Leadership Foundation Fellowship Event 2017
We're pleased to invite you to our annual Global Leadership Foundation fellowship event on December 5. If you're in Melbourne (or will be), please join us at the same spectacular location at which we've held this event for the last few years: Little Blue Restaurant on St. Kilda Pier. It's a very special place with an amazing view!
Come along and renew old acquaintances and enjoy new ones with the Global Leadership Community. Your registration fee of $35 (inc. GST) enables and supports the work of the foundation in supporting leaders in community. Canapes, drinks and lots of great conversations and people will make it a fantastic evening for all of us.
