GENERAL

VALE HAZEL PITHER

The WA equestrian community was saddened to hear of the passing of Hazel Pither late last week. Hazel’s contribution to the entire equestrian community in WA was enormous. Over the years she and her husband John devoted many hours of labour and expertise to the Jumping community from Club to Board level. She also proudly supported her family in their many Equestrian pursuits and we offer our condolences to them.

On a personal note, I was very proud to be EWA Chair when Hazel’s contribution to EWA was acknowledged with the naming of the entrance to the SEC indoor arena as the 'Hazel Pither Entrance'. I was fortunate to have known Hazel and John since my early teens and throughout the years her advice, whether asked or given, was always direct, positive and from the heart.
