INTERNATIONAL HORSE OWNERS WELCOME IN AUS

Under a new by-law introduced on 1 January 2018, Equestrian Australia (EA) may now grant an International Horse Owner License to an International Owner so that they may enter their horse in EA sanctioned events. MORE

BECOME A VOLUNTEER

EWA is now accepting expressions of interest from people wanting to volunteer at our events for 2018. Volunteers have the opportunity to learn about the sport by listening to judges’ comments, understanding how judging and timing works, as well as assist with understanding with the rules. Some volunteers are also eligible for money in honorarium for donating their time to the event. MORE

COMPULSORY ASADA COURSE FOR EA COACHES

From 31 March 2018, all EA Coaches must have completed a minimum of the online ASADA Level 1 Anti-Doping Course in order to renew their coaching memberships. This will become a compulsory requirement moving forward for updating and renewing your coaching registration and you will need to show proof of your completion certificate as part of this process. EA recommends Coaches keep it in an accessible place in readiness to upload to the MyEA portal during Coach Registration Renewals in June/July.

EA OFFICIALS SEARCH

Did you know that if you are not a current EA member you will not show on the EA Officials Search? With many clubs now booking judges and officials for their upcoming events, it is important for you to renew your membership if you would like clubs to be able to contact you. Renewing online only takes a few minutes and is effective immediately.

2018 RISING STARS ANNOUNCED

EWA is pleased to announce the 65 rider/horse combinations who were successful in their selection for the 2018 EWA Rising Stars Youth Development Program. There are five 2-day clinics planned for 2018, which will not only further riding talents but provide education on subjects including Organisational Skills, Sports Psychology Skills, Horse Management, Personal Health, Exercise, Diet and Fitness Regimes. EWA is looking forward to a jam-packed development program for 2018. MORE

SWAN RIVER DRESSAGE CHANGE OF RESULTS

EWA wishes to announce that Tyana Lawless was incorrectly listed as riding Hors Concours in the Advanced 5.2 at the Swan River Dressage Competition held 9/10 September 2017. The performance of Tyana and Bluefields Furstin Reveal in the Advanced 5.2 has been amended to Official and grading points will be allocated for their performance of 65.214%.

PRELIM LEVEL WORKSHOP

Date: 5 May, 8.30am – 3.30pm
Venue: State Equestrian Centre - Classroom and C-Quest Arena
Cost: $99 incl. facility fee, lunch & m/tea (subsidised by the DDF fund)

Good basics in everyday training through the levels and into the competition arena. With the goal to help riders improve understanding and application of the training scale and competition performance, this full-day workshop includes a seminar, video and ridden demonstrations, test riding and judge feedback.

Guest Presenters: Hazel Hikins A-level Dressage Judge & Mentor, Level 2 Dressage Coach & Chris Sharpe B-level Dressage Judge and Level 1 General Coach.

A Mid-week Dressage initiative supported by the Dressage Development Fund.

*Throughout the year the program will offer workshops to riders at all levels. Stay tuned for further dates and information!

COMPETITION INCENTIVES FOR CLUBS

DWA is offering EWA-affiliated clubs (including dressage and adult riding clubs) the opportunity to apply for retrospective subsidies when running official dressage competitions (Participant and Competitive). Your club could be eligible for up to $1000 per competition, depending on the number of tests ridden and the level of classes offered. The subsidy will only be offered for two events per club. MORE

  • Perth Royal Show
  • Show Horse Council WA Classic
  • Show Horse Council WA Western Stars
  • Show Horse Council Horse of the Year
  • Gosnells Masters
  • Any other events not run under EA National Show Horse Rules

EWA Horse of the Year placings do not count as an attendance as the purpose of qualifications is to encourage competitors to support clubs.
