Highlights from Travel Options Week
Travel Options Week was a real success where staff and students from different areas of the university came along. Several service providers from the local transport sector had stalls to talk about and promote their travel services.
|
We had a plethora of organisations, involved in promoting sustainable transport, attend our travel options week events on the 19th and 22nd of March. Some of the highlights included students competing to be the fastest on the Leeds City Council’s Roller Bikes, staff pledging to fit more walking into their day with Living Streets and staff eyeing up the latest bikes they can purchase through the University’s cycle to work scheme.
If you want to find out any more about the offers from any of the organisations that attended the event, then get in touch at transport@leedsbeckett.ac.uk or visit our web pages at www.leedsbeckett.ac.uk/transport (or staff pages link for staff newsletter).

Dockless bikes in town - Ofo bikes
The world’s first dockless hire scheme, ofo, will launch in Leeds on Tuesday 15 May with a fleet of 1,000 bikes. The Leeds scheme will focus initially on the city centre, expanding into suburbs and nearby towns shortly after.
|
“This is exciting news, and will offer both residents and visitors to Leeds the chance to cycle conveniently into and around the city centre for what will be a small fee.”
Cllr Richard Lewis, Leeds City Council's executive member for regeneration, transport and planning.
