The Whipping Boy

The Whipping Boy tells the story of a spoiled young prince who, for the attention of his father, the king, did many mischievous things around the castle and town. He spoiled the portrait of the queen mother, disturbed a meeting with a visiting ambassador, and would command his carriage driver to ride through puddles in hopes that the citizens who bowed to show homage to him would be dirtied as the carriage sped through the streets. The king, exasperated with the crude behavior of his son, decided to punish the prince whenever he got into trouble. However, there was a rule in the land that no one could ever whip the prince. more
