QORF eNews September 2019 No Images? Click here Winners to be announced at the Awards Dinner, Friday October 25 Hi there, It's October, it's the Outdoors Queensland Awards! Due to some kind of, as yet unexplained, 'ghost in the machine', it appears that some subscribers did not receive this eNewsletter when it was first sent out at the beginning of the month. Consequently, we are re-sending it with additions and edits as appropriate. Please Note: due to the severity of the drought conditions in Queensland we decided to cancel the Nature Play QLD Mud World event which was going to take place on October 5 and 6 at Samford, Brisbane. Active Clubs Funding Now OpenQORF encourages not-for-profit outdoor organisations to apply for the Queensland Government Active Clubs funding of up to $2,000 for either equipment or training to sport and active recreation organisations delivering physical activity throughout Queensland. The equipment category provides funding to help you deliver quality physical activity experiences, and the training category provides funding to improve your ability to manage the organisation. Helpful hint – the website states that the department will prioritise projects seeking support to help deliver quality physical activity experiences over those that seek support to manage an organisation (although some might argue that using funding to improve the management of our organisations is a terrific way to help deliver quality physical activity experiences). Applications close 5pm Friday 15th November. Check the website for eligibility criteria and more information.
