July Class Series (4 weeks)

July Class Series registration is OPEN. Check out our class descriptions below. You can register for drop-in classes if you cannot attend the whole month.

Journey Series (7:05-8:05 pm)

Me: Speedy Lindy
Conditioning! Fast swingouts! Fast 6 count with efficient and agile footwork! This class will cover staying close and keeping steps small, moving your own body in space and hitting the stretches and connections at key moments with your partner.

w/ Alana Tran & Paige Stanley

Advanced: Small Groups Series (7:05-8:05 pm)

Switching, Stealing, and Sneaking Around
Become a master of the steal jam, an aficionado of the switch dance, and an altogether smooth conductor! This class requires comfortable familiarity with all fundamental patterns covered in Beginners and Journey, as well as some familiarity and willingness to dance in both roles. Class will deep dive into nuanced partnered connection as a basis for any patterns, but will also rely on peer work to uncover the complexities of timing and technique.

w/  Brynna Hayes & Calvin Lu

Beginners Series (8:15-9:15 pm)

Beginning Lindy Hop
Come learn Lindy Hop! This origin story of all swing dances is fun, creative, and addicting. Progressive material over the course of the month will get you up and dancing at our weekly parties in no time.

PRE-REQUISITES: None. Two-left-feet friendly, no partner required; just bring comfy shoes and your enthusiasm!

w/ Sam Nguyen & James Yeh

Performance Series (8:15-9:15 pm)

Original Shag Routine
Collegiate Shag is a swing dance style like Lindy Hop or Balboa, typically danced to higher tempos, with heavy focus on rhythm.  This month Karen and Nick will be diving into an original choreography that helps you get a handle on the basics of Shag, and even a few flashy moves.  No experience with Shag is required or expected, come out and learn this fantastic dance style.

w/ Karen Huddleston & Nick Gonella
