Stop by on a Saturday during their Open Shop to meet other makers and try a project or two, like taking a part printers or creating new stuffed animals from old plush parts(the results can be incredibly wacky, but in a really good way). Love Your Magic ConferenceSaturday, March 14th | 9:30 AM - 2:30 PM | Salem | Black and Latina girls in elementary school The Love Your Magic Conference is a free conference for school-age Black and Latina girls that provides them with the support and skills they need to stay engaged in school and build healthy relationships, with the desired outcome of preventing school pushout. The Love Your Magic Conference provides its participants with the opportunity to engage in a series of interactive sessions that enhance their ability to practice self-love, self-advocacy and sisterhood. Sigma Youth Symposium "Elevating Our Youth: Civically Socially, and Physically" Saturday, March 14th | 9:30 AM - 2:00 PM | 300 Fenway | Ages 13-18 The Youth Symposium is just one initiative of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. national signature program, Project Reassurance, which has incorporated the theme of "H-3: It's All About Me-Healthy Choices, Healthy Living, Healthy Generations". The goal of the symposium is to create dialogue, have opportunities for youth to connect to community resources, and to provide inspiration for making positive and long-lasting change. Sign up here 2020 A-Town Teen Video FestivalTuesday, March 24th | 7:00 PM | Regent Theatre, Arlington | All Ages ATown Teen Film Festival is Arlington area’s only homegrown festival for teen videographers. Last year’s contestants came from Arlington, Lexington, Cambridge, Somerville, and Lowell, and we expect even broader participation this year. Cash prizes up to $500 will be awarded in a number of categories, and in addition to being shown on the Regent’s big screen, the films will be showcased on ACMi’s channels for weeks thereafter. Bring your Little Sister, come in sneakers ready to get active! Limited yoga mats will be available at the store for comfort but are not required for the fitness activity. If you prefer to use a mat for fitness exercises feel free to bring one with you!
