Foot traffic during Adelaide’s Biggest Shopping Event increased six per cent in Rundle Mall, while it doubled on Rundle Street in comparison to the same period in 2021. Start Up Week approaching_SOUTHSTART, Australia’s leading innovation festival, has partnered with AEDA to present Startup Week that is on between 14 – 19 November. Startup Week will embrace the local startup community of business builders, founders, investors, industry and future leaders, as well as South Australians working towards a better future. Support for businesswomenThe Women in Business Program is tailored to challenges women face in starting, operating and growing businesses. Running over four years, participants can learn about the foundations of business and be a part of a business advisory program. Polo fun, fashion and support from AEDA to stage eventSpring fashion and polo will take over Ellis Park from 11–12 November when the inaugural Adelaide Polo Classic comes to the city. Organiser Luke Schapel has partnered with AEDA through its Strategic Events Fund program, which is designed to assist in staging events that drive visitation, economic activity and vibrancy. Yarn keeping it all togetherWorking with city businesses, musicians and artists as they navigated out of the COVID-19 pandemic was at the centre of the Reignite Adelaide program. Delve into the stories of comeback, collaboration and triumph through the City of Adelaide's new series, City Yarns. Tourism Award winnersCity operators Adelaide Zoo, Adelaide Fringe and SkyCity Adelaide were among more than 30 winners at the 2022 South Australian Tourism Awards last week. The awards are the pinnacle of excellence within the state tourism industry and are administered by the Tourism Industry Council South Australia (TiCSA). South Australia events, festivals and concerts among the bestAdelaide has been ranked in the top 30 per cent in the world for its events and festivals this quarter, new data shows. Tourism Sentiment Index Score figures — a ranking formulated by how people feel about locations around the world — showed Adelaide was the 36th best for its events and festivals between July and September 2022. Events, concerts and festivals were also listed as Adelaide’s most loved asset, the Score showed, followed by restaurants and dining and beaches.
