Highlights from the past 25 years

A few more highlights as we celebrate the past 25 years by taking a look back.

2013

• President – Jim MacKimm, Beacon Roofing Supply, Herndon, Va.

• $370,000 in project funding approved for: Roofpoint: Elevating Environmental Performance; positioning the Roofing Alliance as a source for data collection–feasibility study; Air Movements Impact on Roofing Systems Testing (two-year study); Construction Management Schools Initiative began with Auburn University, Colorado State University and the University of Florida; EnergyWise Online Calculator Update 2013; Funds were distributed through the Roofing Alliance’s Helping Our Own Program to Marc Fucarile, J.P. Norden and Paul Norden, victims of the Boston Marathon bombing. 

2014

• President – Rob McNamara, F.J.A. Christiansen Roofing Co. Inc., a Tecta America company, Milwaukee

• $84,000 in project funding approved for: Bilingual America Cultural Training Program; continued Construction Management Schools Initiative–first faculty scholarship awarded to integrate roofing industry materials into curricula; first Roofing Alliance-sponsored Construction Management Student Competition–Colorado State University was the winning team. 

We are saddened to share news of the passing of former Roofing Alliance member Bill Glenn with Olsson Roofing Co. Inc., St. Charles, Ill. Bill was president of the National Roofing Foundation from 2001-02 and served as chairman of the NRF Planned Giving Committee when the committee was reactivated in 2004. Click here to read Bill’s obituary.
