Huntly section project update - August 2018

It's mid-winter but that doesn't slow progress, with work going on from end to end of the 15km Huntly section.

State Highway 1 travellers are getting a good view of the works at both the northern and southern interchanges. The big bridge over the railway line at the Northern Interchange will get spanned by 50m beams this month. Down at the Gordonton Road Interchange the on and off-ramps are taking shape.

As earthworks wrap up the team have got cracking on pavement - with 50 per cent of the job likely to be sealed by this Christmas.

We are planning a public information day on Saturday, October 27 and hope to be able to bus people along a good stretch of the route.

Also in the latest update we say farewell and happy retirement to project director Tony Dickens, pictured right.
