Dr. Jordan Roberts, AAFP DelegateDr. Ben Wilde, AAFP Alternate DelegateMonoclonal Antibody Treatment available for Outpatient COVID Patients in UtahTwo monoclonal antibody regimens, bamlanivimab (Eli Lilly) and casirivimab/imdevimab (Regeneron), have been granted an emergency use authorization (EUA) for treating high risk, non-hospitalized patients diagnosed with COVID-19. Clinical trials are ongoing, but data suggest that treatment within the first seven days of symptoms can reduce a patient’s risk of hospitalization. Both drugs are currently available to patients who meet the state’s eligibility criteria.
