Our Project Open Day on 3 March was a big hit.
Our survey drones, scale models, videos and displays attracted 2500 people, and 1200 took up the offer of a free bus tour on to our work site. Visitors were surprised to find their buses were escorted along our ‘live’ haul road, with dumptrucks and motorscapers travelling past. Buses travelled over a newly constructed bridge, through a new interchange area and viewed large diggers excavating sand.
Visitors crowded around our new scale model of the Southern Interchange and watched our survey drones in flight. They got their hands dirty sampling the soils on site, learned how we treat stormwater, learned about water treatment and bridge abutments, and sent to kids digging for treasures in our sandpit.
We’ll be back with another Open Day in March 2019.
