Green Impact Awards dinner
After a year of sustainable changes made by several members of staff across the university, the Green Impact teams were rewarded for their efforts. Read about this very special evening.

Green Impact Relaunch
Over the past week, we have had the chance to meet so many staff and students from different areas and courses all at the Green Impact relaunch. We presented the certificates to the students who volunteered as Environmental Auditors. On top of that, we briefly explained the Green Impact process and discussed the changes in the new toolkit.

Louise from CARES also gave a short testimony of her experience in taking part in Green Impact and how it positively impacted on the efficiency of her team.

Easter Holiday Energy savings
During the Easter period, we had organised an energy saving campaign where we encouraged staff to switch off their non-essential electrical items. As during the Christmas break we have made some significant savings. (See in graph below)

Carbon Footprint calculator
It was Earth Day on April 22nd, the event's mission is to diversify, educate, and activate the environmental movement worldwide. If you want to know your own personal impact on the environment, then why not try out the WWF Carbon Calculator.

National Walking month
It's National Walking month this May. We are spreading the word about walking and its benefits to you. Today, less than half of children walk to school compared to 70% a decade ago. A third of adults walk less than 10 minutes a week!

Dr Bike
Our own Dr Bike will be in the Rose Bowl to help you with any issues you're experiencing with your bicycles. Also, if you are in need of lights or locks, you can get some for very reasonable prices.

Tour de Yorkshire
This year the Tour de Yorkshire is coming to Leeds! As a growing world event, the race attracts more and more people by the sides of the roads but also on TV - last year the race was broadcasted in 180 countries with an audience of nearly 10m global viewers reached.
