Cost recovery design - Extended consultation on cost recovery of exports certification (to the 31st January 2020)

A new Industry Advice Notice has been published on the Department of Agriculture's website regarding extended consultation on cost recovery of exports of certification until the 31st January 2020.

As you may be aware, the Department is revising the exports cost recovery arrangements to ensure ongoing financial sustainability and to reflect the current regulatory business model.

Through this process, a new Food Export Cost Recovery Implementation Statement (CRIS) for the food export cost recovery arrangements has been drafted outlining the costs associated with the delivery of export regulatory activities and providing a set of proposed charging adjustments.

The Department are conducting public consultation to seek feedback from industry and other affected stakeholders on the proposed charging adjustments. The public consultation is taking place via the Have Your Say stakeholder engagement platform on their website.

Summary to date

  • The draft 2019–20 Food Export CRIS documents were released on 10 October 2019 and the previous closing date for submissions was 10 January 2020.
  • The Department has recently held Stakeholder engagement sessions.
  • Given the timing of these engagement sessions, and feedback from stakeholders, the Department will provide additional time for submissions, until 31 January 2020.
  • There are no changes to the draft Food Export CRIS
  • If you wish to provide feedback on the proposed charging adjustments please make a submission via the Have Your Say platform.

If you have any questions, please email Cost Recovery.
