Boomtown Families

Dear friend,

It has been a busy couple of weeks for Boomtown news! After a long summer, tickets for Chapter One: The Gathering went on sale on 1st October and we were able to reveal our new vision for next year’s festival and announce the reduction in ticket prices for Boomtown 2021!

In response to COVID-19, over the past six months we’ve been evolving how we run the festival operationally and creatively, so that we can put on the safest and best party possible and at the same time really embed Boomtown’s ethos further into the very foundations of the city.  As part of this reincarnation, the main city and its unique districts have been given new homes in what was previously known as Downtown Boomtown and you can find out all about the changes on the city page, our ethos page here.

As a member of our family community with tickets for The Gathering, this does mean that the city’s transformations may affect you and in case you missed the details on the website when we launched last week, we wanted to get in touch with you directly to update you.

The biggest change for our Boomtown families is that Kidztown has now been replaced by a smaller family area that has moved location. This new area is run by the same collection of children’s entertainment experts who will be providing some dedicated family activities. More information on this will follow in the Spring.

Offering easy access to the rest of the city, there is also a new dedicated family camping area with family friendly facilities that’s situated in a central, flat location adjoining the new East Campsite Village. Here you can connect with your fellow families, get back to your festival roots, be part of the Boomtown camping experience and explore the selection of speaker opportunities and live music sprinkled across the Campsite Village. However, at the moment there isn't a dedicated entrance for families or a specific close proximity car park specifically for families.

All generations are welcome to the city, and there is family friendly entertainment in most districts as well as the many musical acts performing across our main stages and smaller venues, plus an assortment of theatrical performers flooding the streets. However, as with all cities, as the sun goes down they do become focused on adult entertainment only.

The full details of what is on offer will be released over the coming months on our family pages below.

We know that this offering for families has changed from originally advertised in the 2020 event and this may affect your plans for next year. We hope you decide to join us in 2021, but we are happy to be able to offer any families a refund if the changes outlined above affect your decision to attend.

If you have any specific questions or you wanted to request a refund please do email us on info@boomtownfair.co.uk and we will be in touch directly.
