Welcome to 2020 Steelers families! And just like that, we are heading towards the tail end of the Summer 20 Season with only 3 more rounds to go before the finals begin. There are some important dates to keep an eye on in the coming weeks, so check out the calendar below: Calendar FEBRUARY - to - MARCH 14th - 28th February - WINTER REGISTRATIONS OPEN Skill Sessions - Go to Team App - under Events, click on the dates you would like to book into. Sunday 16th February - U12's and below: 9.00am / U14's and above: 10.00am Mini Ball - Term 1 - THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT (Keep an eye on notifications towards the end of this term for Term 2 registration) 23rd February - Coaches to complete 2 coaches award recipients by Round 13 23rd February - Coaches to complete player profiles to assist Team selections 29th February - Semi finals begin 7th March - LABOUR DAY WEEKEND - NO Domestic basketball games 22nd March - Summer 19/20 Club Presentation Day WINTER 2020 The winter season begins on Saturday 18th April and althought that seems like a long way off, preparations for the season are already underway. We are in need of more selectors for the boys, so if you can help, please email: boysteams@steelersbc.com Any time or contribution you can make helps the clubs selection process. Volunteering also gives you an insight into the amount of work that goes on behind the scenes, especially the selection process. It might help give you a little perspective on the time and effort that is put into teams selections, before giving feedback or negative complaints. There is a lot going on around the club, and we are always looking for volunteers. Winter 2020 Season is on our doorstep, please consider putting your hand up to be a selector, a coach, a team manager or help with the Summer presentation evening. Venues Just when you think you must have played at every stadium in the EDJBA, you get the weeks fixture and think "where on earth is that stadium?" We've got you covered, there is a quick link below with a list of the EDJBA venues and their address. Code of Conduct Just a couple of reminders to all parents. Please read the Basketball Victoria Code of Conduct. As a club, we want to ensure that we are best representing the club and that doesn't finish when grading does. Remember, our priority is ensuring our kids want to play basketball in a safe and encouraging environment. As a club, we expect parents, players and representatives of the club to conduct themselves in a respectful and professional manner. A high standard of behaviour helps build a clubs family friendly culture and it is imperative that it is adhered to. Additionally to this, in regards to team training sessions, there are expectations on coaches, parents and players.
