Non-Profit Tower Family Foundation One of Two Wireless Industry Charitable Organizations Receiving $60,000 Contribution
(Newcastle, Washington) – The Tower Family Foundation was the recipient of a $60,000 contribution from T-Mobile’s National Development team following its 3rd Annual Golf Tournament held on Wednesday, August 17 in Newcastle, Washington.
The Tower Family Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides financial assistance and scholarships to family members of a severely injured, permanently disabled, or deceased tower worker injured or killed in an accident stemming from working at heights on communication structures or other on-the-job related activities that tower workers are involved in on a daily basis. Since its inception less than two years ago, the Tower Family Foundation has awarded a total of $185,000 to eligible tower workers and their families.
“T-Mobile is a founding donor of the Tower Family Foundation,” said T-Mobile’s Senior Director of National Development Allan Tantillo. “The work of the Foundation – as well as Warriors4Wireless which also received an identical contribution – is significantly important to the successful deployment of wireless technologies. Mobile customers are demanding ubiquitous wireless coverage and these foundations help the entire industry respond to those demands.”
The popular T-Mobile golf event was held at The Golf Club at Newcastle, the premier golf course in the Pacific Northwest. The property features 36 holes of championship golf, framed by stunning, panoramic views of Lake Washington, Mt. Rainier, the Olympic and Cascade Mountains, and the Seattle skyline.
“On behalf of the Tower Family Foundation, we are grateful for T-Mobile’s generous support,” stated Foundation Board of Directors President Jim Tracy from Legacy Telecommunications, Inc. in Burley, Washington. “The financial contributions raised from this golf event will allow the Tower Family Foundation to continue fulfilling our mission of providing financial resources to workers and families during times of need,” Tracy explained.
