Newsletter, February 2017 No Images? Click here Hi there, As we're nearing the end of the financial year, we're getting ready for a series of updates and new introductions. Be sure to check out our new brochure for LG Inform Plus and the range of upcoming online training sessions. We're always interested to hear about your ideas for improving both the tools and would love to hear from you, so don't hesitate to get in touch by replying to this newsletter. Empowering decision-making with legislationLots has changed in the local government legal space in recent months, and 2016 saw the introduction of a new Housing & Planning Act, the Welfare Reform & Work Act and the Cities & Local Government Devolution Act. In line with these legislative changes, we're conducting a review of our Powers & Duties and Records Retention guidance with help from Kent Legal Services. The review will focus on the changes to current legislation and new laws that impact local and FRS authorities, highlighting any new compliance or powers. We'll also be adding new services to Standards, if required. The review will take place shortly and we aim to release the new guidance in April 2017. If you have any queries or comments, don't hesitate to let us know. New publishing features in LGIP report writerWe're due to release a set of new features for the report writer in LG Inform Plus, giving you greater control over the appearance of PDFs. You'll be able to specify where page breaks fall, helping to keep titles and text with the charts or maps they describe, as well as the introduction of cover pages. We're keen to hear any feature requests you have around publishing reports, and welcome all comments. Email us to let us know your thoughts.
