Cool Stuff for Earth Day Weekend

The inaugural Philadelphia Environmental Film Festival showcases dozens of entertaining and powerful new international and regional features and shorts that celebrate natural beauty and raise awareness about our impact on the earth. Come out and be inspired, vote for your favorite films and participate in evening Q&A with the filmmakers. Check the Festival website

Hosted by the Ambler Environmental Advisory Committee, EarthFest is fun for the whole family! This year's event will focus on managing stormwater — workshops, demonstrations and great information on rain barrels, composting, rain gardens, downspout planters, riparian buffers and more. There also will be vendors, kids' activities and, of course, great local food!
Plant a Tree with West Mt. Airy NeighborsSaturday, April 22, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.; meet at Allens Lane Art Center, 601 W. Allens Lane
Get your Co-op hours helping the West Mt. Airy Neighbors Streetscapes Committee plant new street trees. Meet up at the Allens Lane Art Center for coffee and assignments. You'll be paired with trained Tree Tenders and landscape professionals, then spread throughout the community to plant bare-root street trees provided by the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society and the Plant a Million initiative.
