This memo is intended for health care providers who administer IPV (Imovax® Polio) or pediatric Hepatitis B (Engerix®-B) vaccines, as well as office staff responsible for vaccine ordering.

Stock Outs

• Niagara Region Public Health currently does not have any IPV (Imovax® Polio) in stock. The Ministry of Health is expecting new IPV (Imovax® Polio) supply later this month, but it may take some time for Public Health to receive inventory that can be distributed to health care providers.
• The Engerix®-B pediatric vaccine for clients with a latex allergy is currently out of stock. The Ministry of Health will advise when additional stock is available. Public Health will update healthcare providers when this vaccine can be ordered.

Office Staff Action

• Resume placing orders for IPV (Imovax® Polio) beginning in June

More Information

• At times, the Ontario Ministry of Health may experience other vaccine shortages or stockouts. As a result, vaccine orders may be adjusted if supply impacts Niagara.
