For 100 years, according to the Yachting Registry, PICYA has opened the yachting season with a parade of boats large and small.  Opening Day on the Bay will be Sunday, April 23, 2017, with a decorated parade. The theme for this year’s parade is “Cruising the Century” showcasing historic moments of all kinds: Nautical, Technology, Science, Historic Figures and more. This will be a spectacular day to participate in the parade.

During our cruise we will enjoy a fabulous sit-down lunch with a no host bar and a front row view of the parade.  You do not have to be a yacht club member to attend.

RBOC URGES CALIFORNIA BOATERS TO TAKE THE FOLLOWING BOATUS SURVEY TODAY TO HELP US GAUGE THE EFFECT THAT AB 71 [CHIU] WOULD HAVE ON YOUR BOATING. TO TAKE THE SURVEY: CLICK HERE

AB 71 [CHIU] WOULD REPEAL THE STATE INCOME TAX DEDUCTION FOR LOAN INTEREST PAID ON 2ND HOMES WHICH INCLUDE BOATS AND RVS.

CURRENTLY BOATS THAT HAVE COOKING, SLEEPING AND SANITARY FACILITIES QUALIFY FOR THIS DEDUCTION.

WE WOULD APPRECIATE YOU TAKING THE SHORT SURVEY TO HELP US GAUGE THE EFFECT OF THIS CHANGE ON YOUR BOATING.

The Wednesday Yachting Luncheons continue a 49-year tradition of relevant topics, friendly fun and good food in a relaxed, informal setting. The buffet lunch service begins at 11:45am. The program begins at 12:30pm sharp. Presentations and Q&A usually wrap up by 1:30pm and guest speakers often linger for personal conversation with our knowledgable audience.

All members of recognized PICYA yacht clubs are welcome at the Wednesday Yachting Luncheon. First-time guests are asked to please visit our Front Desk for a guest card and a smile. We hope you enjoy our luncheon fare, fabulous view and sailor’s hospitality.

The 54th annual Trans-Tahoe Regatta, the most competitive race on Lake Tahoe, to be held June 23 & 24 will be highlighted this year with several new changes including its new date.

The Regatta will feature different PHRF divisions starting Friday, June 23rd with afternoon buoy races followed by the long distance race on Saturday, June 24th* with a new competitive race course.  For off the water fun a party for all participants will be held Friday evening at Tahoe City's iconic River Grill owned by one of our own members, Rich Courcier and an awards ceremony will be held at the Tahoe Yacht Club at the conclusion of all racing.

A classic competition since 1963, this event has hosted skippers and their yachts from as far as San Diego and Seattle, Washington, who come to test their skills over a 25 mile course played out on Lake Tahoe's excellent sailing conditions and spectacular high-mountain views!

The PICYA Board has approved a program to allow vendors to provide classified ads in the Monthly Navigator for a fee. There are annual as well as one time rates. All ads will be reviewed and approved by the Board prior to posting.
