No Images? Click here Final CountdownThe final days are here to speak out to protect our American horses from a gruesome fate. Our wild ones face being shot by the tens of thousands to perpetuate the broken system of public land management. Wild horses have paid the price over and over again as politics rule the range, not common sense or the law. Our domestics, that include wild horses adopted or sold, face the reopening of horse slaughter plants in the US. Horse slaughter in the US has historically been a disaster for local communities and a huge profit line for foreign investors. Your voice is important at the crucial time. These votes could come as early as Tuesday of next week. We are going into a holiday weekend, with many offices closed on Monday. We are asking that you send a FAX or email, one for each issue. These need to be sent to both your representative in the House and to your Senator. Simply make the subject line clear on each issue and send the email or FAX. Sending your message to your representatives takes more work than signing a petition but is much more effective. Make sure you identify that it is "wild horses" or "horse slaughter" in your message. Wild Horses, I do not want my tax dollars spent killing healthy wild horses. I do not want you to approve that action in the Department of Interior budget. Horse slaughter, I do not want my tax dollars spent funding horse meat inspections. Horse slaughter makes no economic sense in this country. Continue to defund USDA inspections for fiscal year 2018. Send both messages, in different emails or Faxes, to your Senator and Congressional representative (House). One free FAX service, that will find your Reps for you, can be found at the links below. If you do not want to send a fax you can find emails at http://govtrack.us If you want more information about these issues scroll down. A webinar Wild Horse Education (WHE) did this week included a discussion document. Participants in the forum felt the document was very helpful and felt we should share it with people like you. People that want to understand the issues our wild ones face. You can access the document at this link, use password WHEWEB91 The very land they stand on is under increasing threat from big interests. An educated advocacy is more important than ever! "I have seen, with my on eyes, more wild horses removed from the range than any observer, public or government, in the last decade. I have seen literally tens of thousands of wild horses removed. What I witnessed can not be allowed to be repeated. The addictions to the past by all concerned must end. It is our wild ones that pay the price for entrenched beliefs rooted in greed."
