Week of VocTech: We're excited to announce the latest event as part of Week of VocTech 2023 - 'Delivering the future of assessment: Practical insights from the NCFE Assessment Innovation Fund'. Join the Assessment Innovation Fund team from NCFE to explore how new technologies and approaches are being adopted across the assessment system, driving forward the transformation of assessment and supporting post-16 learners to thrive and achieve their potential. This session will explore three diverse Assessment Innovation Fund projects, each with an innovative approach to using technology to solve a problem for learners in an area of assessment. Investment news: Ufi Ventures has invested into Slinger, supporting people to find quality work and develop careers in the hospitality industry. Ufi Ventures invested in Slinger as part of a £500k pre-seed investment round led by Fuel Ventures with co-investment from Resolution Foundation, Cornerstone VC and angel investors. The Slinger team, almost all of whom have previously worked in the industry, are revolutionising the hiring process in hospitality. This investment round will support Slinger to focus on three key areas in product development, client growth and team growth. NEW: The new Organiser badge, developed in partnership with Ufi, is designed to help anybody that is using iDEA with a group of learners, whether they’re just getting started, or they’ve been using it for some time. The badge supports organisers to get set up and explains how the iDEA portal can help them manage groups of learners and keep up with progress – so that they can feel confident about using the platform and get the most out of it for their cohorts. The badge will help provide organisers with the knowledge and confidence they need to make the best use of iDEA to boost their learners’ digital skills, enterprise skills, and confidence. Don't miss: Our friends at National Numeracy are running the Number Confidence Week between 6-10 November 2023. The week is about recognising that improving confidence with numbers can help people to make better decisions with money, improve their skills at work and to help their children with learning. National Numeracy are aiming to empower adults in the UK to take action to build their confidence with numbers and feel in control at work and home. They are offering a range of free, confidence boosting online resources that can help people get started. Event: Ufi Ventures portfolio company, AntonoMe, will be sharing their insights at the Tech for All: Inclusion in Innovation event on 7 November. The South West meet-up is exploring the question of who is benefiting from digital advancements, and who is being left behind? The panellists will discuss the critical intersection of technology and inclusivity. William Britton, Founder of AutonoMe, will be joining the panel. AutonoMe uses mobile technology to help people with learning disabilities and autism develop skills for independent living and employment.
