MyBeckett News - November 2020Hello from the Digital Learning Service and our new look newsletter, including:
Adding Video Content to MyBeckettWe appreciate that everyone has had to move fast this academic year, with new systems, but if possible please do not upload video files directly to MyBeckett. Instead please provide a link to the Panopto Replay Lecture Capture site, OneDrive, YouTube etc. Any recordings via Collaborate are fine as they are. Video files uploaded to MyBeckett directly (rather than to Replay or alternatives) use our allocated storage and therefore may (if left unchecked) impact on system performance and cost to the University. We'd really appreciate your help in keeping storage use to a minimum, and the alternatives provide students with a better experience. Similarly if you want students to submit video files, see our guides for Video Submissions (YouTube) or Qwickly (OneDrive). New Content Editor!A significant update to Blackboard includes a new content editor which improves accessibility and simplifies content adding - see our temporary guide.
Turnitin Update
Blackboard Ally - Amazing Early Stats!Blackboard Ally is proving very popular since launching in September - as proved by the number of Alt formats use (below). MyBeckett's total accessibilty score continues to rise (up 12% since Ally launch) - thank you all for engaging with Ally. Digital Learning Tips
