Riverbank Beach - Summer of Fun
The RiverLink team has developed an active play space in and around the Riverbank car park, aimed at giving the community a glimpse of the recreational possibilities that RiverLink has planned to revitalize Hutt City.
Our RiverLink Summer Programme is all about the possibilities of the future and enjoying the here and now. The design of the Riverbank beach area where the promenade will be, connects the city with Te Awa Kairangi / Hutt River via blue strips on the steps over the stopbank leading into a pathway to swathes of geometric blue, it’s almost impossible to resist the lure to the River’s edge. In the midst of that is a “surprise’ basketball court, colourful and designed for a couple of games of ‘half-court’, the courts inspire a bit of fun and invites exploration.
The natural spaces are equally enticing with logs to jump on and ‘hopping rocks’ too – it’s a place to relax and socialise with family and friends – see you there!
