A better future for people who are isolated this winter
Bradley's story...
Last year a young man visited the Peachey Place Living Skills Centre unsure of what to expect. Bradley had been living a lonely life. He didn't leave his home very much and didn't have many friends.
'I didn't think I'd ever have a future if you talked to me six months ago,' he says. 'I would be inside not talking to anyone, just continuing down that [lonely] spiral.'
He was referred to us in the hopes that he could build better networks in the community. At Peachey Place Bradley was welcomed immediately and put to work in the community garden and tool shed. Through connecting with others at Peachey Place, Bradley is not only meeting new people but building skills to last a lifetime.
'I am really glad I found this place. It's turned my outlook on life around,' he said. 'Everybody's like one big happy family. Being a part of this family has taught me to reconnect with my own family.'
This winter, thousands of people are facing this same season of isolation. We need your support to help them build a brighter future.
