Holiday Season Closures

The office of the Vaccine Preventable Disease program will be closed Dec. 25, 26, 27 and Jan. 1 and 2. This will impact schedules for routine vaccine deliveries and COVID-19 vaccine pick-up; see below for details and plan your orders accordingly.

Regular schedules and hours of operation resume Jan. 3, 2024 (Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.).

Vaccine Supply Reminders

• The 2023-2024 Record Review has started, please ensure your practice has enough vaccine supply to manage the increased demand in getting students caught-up on routine vaccines:

Holiday Delivery Schedule for Routine Vaccine Orders

Orders can be placed anytime throughout the month; however, the deadline to submit your vaccine order is three business days prior to your delivery date. We are unable to guarantee delivery of vaccine when orders are received after the deadline.

• Orders for delivery the week of Jan. 3, 2024 must be submitted by Wednesday Dec. 20
• There will be no vaccine deliveries on Dec. 28 and Dec. 29. The following are the delivery dates for the month of December:
  • St. Catharines – Tuesday, Dec. 5 and Thursday, Dec. 21
    • First delivery in January will be Wednesday, Jan 3 (order by Dec. 20). If your office closes early on Wednesday please indicate this on your order.
  • Port Colborne – Monday, Dec. 4 and Dec. 18
    • First delivery in January will be Thursday, Jan. 4 (order by Dec. 20)
  • Welland, Pelham & Fonthill – Thursday, Dec. 7 & Tuesday, Dec. 19
    • First delivery in January will be Thursday, Jan. 4 (order by Dec. 20)
  • Niagara Falls & Niagara-on-the-Lake – Tuesday, Dec. 12 & Wednesday, Dec. 20
  • Grimsby, Smithville, Lincoln & Thorold – Wednesday, Dec. 13 & Friday, Dec. 22
  • Fort Erie – Thursday, Dec. 14 & Wednesday, Dec. 20

Pharmacists who would like to order vaccines must contact their distributor.

Holiday Pick-Up Schedule for COVID-19 Vaccine Orders

• The last pick-up date for 2023 is Thursday, Dec. 21. Orders must be received by Friday Dec. 15 for the Dec. 21 pick-up.

• Vaccine pick-up will not be available on Thursday, Dec. 28 or Thursday, Jan. 4

• Orders submitted from Friday, Dec. 22 to Friday, Jan. 5, will be available for pick-up on Thursday, Jan. 11. An email will be sent to all health care providers that place an order during these weeks to arrange a pick-up time.
