EU:  New market access advice with regard to new export certification for fishery products

The STAG has been informed by the Department of Agriculture that a new market access advice has been published with regard to new export certification for fishery products exported to the European Union (EU) from 14 December 2019.

Fishery products include finfish, bivalve molluscs, crustaceans, echinoderms, tunicates and marine gastropods exported to the EU. 

Key points of the notification include:

The current certificate numbers shall stay the same for all edible fishery products (e.g. FEEN1A shall remain FEEN1A) and the changes to the certificates themselves involve:

  • New titles. The Heath Certificate For Imports Of Fishery Products Intended For Human Consumption is now named Official Certificate For The Entry In The Union For Placing On The Market Of Fishery Products.   The Health Certificate For Imports Of Live Bivalve Molluscs, Echinoderms, Tunicates And Marine Gastropods Intended For Human Consumption is now named Official Certificate For The Entry In The Union For Placing On The Market Of Live Bivalve Molluscs, Echinoderms, Tunicates And Marine Gastropods

  • Updated references to recent EU Regulations in the attestations section of the certificates. 

  • In line with new regulations, Border Inspection Post (BIP) is now known as Border Control Post (BCP).

  • The front page of the certificates are slightly different in regard to cell numbers and the setting out of information. 

  • Of note, new information is required at Cell I.28 - ‘Batch No’.  This is simply the processing date and the information shall be automatically applied by EXDOC. No entry is required.
