Busy Summer for Atlas

In addition to the move to new offices this summer, we’re pleased to announce new staff members and some staff promotions.

Renee Chastain has joined Atlas as Aeon Business Development Manager. Renee’s career in library-related sales spans a period of almost twenty years. Prior to joining Atlas, she served as sales manager and regional sales manager for multiple library vendors, most recently for Collection HQ and Alibris for Libraries. Her role with Atlas Systems will take her into the archives and special collections fields as she introduces Aeon to a rapidly growing community of users. Read the full story here.

Earlier this summer we welcomed two additional staff members—Colleen Vaa joined our IT Services department as System Administrator and Katie Gillespie joined our Aeon team working with Marilyn Rackley on Aeon implementations and support.

We’re always happy to see our current staff take on new responsibilities. Please join us in congratulating Melanie Chaney on her promotion to Atlas Business Manager and Dan Moore on his to Training and Library Solutions Consultant for Special Projects.

Atlas Has Job Openings in IT!

New in the Video Training Library

Best Practices for Overdue Processing

In a perfect world, all our patrons would return their ILL materials on time. But a perfect world it is not, so overdue notification and tracking are a necessary part of routine ILLiad processing. In this ILLiad conference presentation, Atlas Training & Library Solutions Consultant Kerry Keegan walks through the Customization Manager keys and template configurations for Overdue messaging and how to implement them in best practice scenarios.

Docline Lending Import and Update

If you make or fill requests through Docline as well as OCLC, you can use ILLiad’s integrated functionality to streamline your work. The Docline workflow has a couple of extra steps added to the basic lending process, but you will find that the integration allows you to keep all your ILL record keeping and processing in one place. This video reviews the way to use ILLiad to process Docline Lending requests.

Ask Atlas: Branding

In this installment of the Ask Atlas series, John Brunswick gets advice from Judy Michaelson of JAM Marketing on how to incorporate branding to best communicate that ILLiad is part of your library services.

Ares and Brightspace

Atlas Systems is pleased to announce that Ares has been added to the Brightspace App Finder. For libraries using Brightspace by D2L, it is easy to provide faculty and students with a seamless integration from the course management system to Ares e-reserves. Check out the short video that explains more about how this works.

Northwest ILL Conference
