STAY TUNED to SOUNZ online for new Resound films from SOUNZ filmaker Chris Watson. After a flurry of filming he is currently editing footage from four recent significant performances - Tales from the Forbidden City, Between Zero and One, Anthony Ritchie's Symphony No. 4, and Requiem for the Fallen

  "A BEAUTIFULLY CONSTRUCTED WORK"

Speaking of Requiem for the Fallen - our lucky ticket competition winner said:

"The programme included several pieces, but the Ross Harris Requiem was definitely the highlight.  A beautifully constructed work and a great performance.  While presented as a WWI commemoration, it was very much a testament to the destructiveness of war, with no sense of celebration or patriotism.  We both found it very moving, and I hope it will be programmed frequently in future." - Paula Warren

Other reviews have been added to our NZ Festival feature HERE.

Thanks to David Squire for sending in this lovely post concert photograph of Ross Harris and Karen Grylls >

Jenny McLeod: 24 Tone Clock Pieces

One of the first projects from the new editor at Wai-te-ata Music Press, Michael Norris, was the complete publication of all 24 Tone Clock Pieces by Jenny McLeod. This monumental project for solo piano, containing works from the mid-1980s to the present day, represents a tour-de-force of advanced pianism, harmonic invention and evocative colourscapes.

Presented in three volumes, this new edition has been completely re-typeset to the highest possible standard, and has been printed on fine quality paper with stylish laminated covers.

All three books can be purchased for the special price of $75.00. Please email info@sounz.org.nz if you would like to take advantage of this offer.
