PNA HIGHLIGHTS & HAPPENINGS

Celebrate Holi and throw colors this Saturday

A girl looks out over the PNA Holi Festival of Colors in front of the Brick Building.

Holi is a Hindu festival of colors celebrating spring, connection, and the triumph of good over evil. Come celebrate it with entertainment, food, and more at our Holi Festival this Sat, March 26! Folks from all religions, cultures, backgrounds, and ages are welcome. Advance tickets are sold out but a limited number of tickets will be available at the event (limit of 8 tickets per person). Local vendors will sell great food, drinks, and activities. Please bring boxes of pads and tampons for our collection drive with Seattle T2P2. Thank you to our friend Lunar Laundry for sponsoring this year's celebration. Our annual Holi festival started in 2018 with a neighbor who wanted to share her culture with the community, which you can read about in this blog post.

Supporting solutions for housing and Woodland Park

Woodland Park entry sign.

We believe that everyone deserves to be included in a caring community. As our city faces its housing crisis, we are focusing on our values to support the important work of finding sustainable solutions for Woodland Park. From engaging with coalitions like Councilman Dan Strauss’ Woodland Park workgroup to offering nutritious meals and vital services through the Hot Meal Program, we work every day to help meet the needs of everyone living in our community.

Mission Moments

AARP tax assistance volunteers in the Greenwood Senior Center.

The AARP Tax Help sessions at our Greenwood Senior Center have provided free tax return assistance to more than 250 older adults. Thank you to AARP and the volunteer tax preparers (pictured) who have made this program possible! The sessions run until Fri, April 15 and there are a few open appointments. Compile all of the necessary paperwork to complete your return and call 206.297.0875 to schedule a time.

PNA Village members enjoy a St. Patrick's Day Meal at the GSC.

Our PNA Village program often used to share a meal and community at potluck events. The pandemic disrupted this ritual, but we were safely able to come together again for a celebratory meal on St. Patrick’s Day! About 30 Village members filled the GSC Greenwood Room with laughter, chatter, and food. We even cracked a few bottles of Guinness for the occasion. It was quite the reunion!
