Film & Television Studio International is super excited to welcome to the studio, Australia's leading and most in-demand Television Casting Director, NATHAN LlOYD from NATHAN LlOYD CASTING (NLC). Due to his heavy work commitments (currently casting some of Australia's most anticipated new prime-time shows), it has been incredibly difficult to get him in-studio for the past couple of years, which is why we are so excited to be able to confirm him as our very special guest in the first Text to Screen-Test Program for 2021.
Text to Screen-Test has been facilitated by some of Australia's most celebrated actors and directors over the years. Term 1, 2021 is no exception. We welcome back to the studio Gold Logie Nominee Eve Morey. A sublime actor, best known for her outstanding work as Sonya Rebecchi on NEIGHBOURS, Eve is also an onset coach on the show, assisting actors not only with their scene/character work, but with their understanding of how they live and work as artists within the community. We are incredibly excited to welcome her back to Film & Television Studio International as one of our ongoing trainers/coaches. Due to popular demand, the gorgeous
Katrina Milosevic and Kym Valentine are also back for Term 1. There are very few Australian actors of Kyms generation that can boast a whopping 20 years dedicated to one Aussie drama. Of course we are talking about Libby Kennedy, a role that Kym made famous whilst starring on NEIGHBOURS. These days, in between auditioning for new roles, Kyms main focus is mentoring the next generation of performers breaking into one of the most demanding and competitive industries in the world. Kym is one of our most recognisable Australian actors; a true Aussie icon of the small screen. Katrina needs no introduction! We have loved watching her star as Boomer in WENTWORTH for the entire 8 seasons. An incredibly talented actress of both the stage and screen, we are thrilled to welcome her back to the
studio.
Television veteran & long-time trainer and Patron of Film & Television Studio International Simone Buchanan is also back for another fantastic term ahead. Text to Screen-Test has been meticulously shaped to guide and encourage students to work on their specific areas requiring development, whilst bringing forth their strengths when screen-testing for prime-time drama. Eve, Katrina, Kym and Simone will work with actors both individually and as a company, assisting students to POP from moment one of an audition. Scenes are assigned to students throughout the term block, along with prep work for each session. For actors who participated in previous terms, they have another opportunity to work in this ongoing manner with our outstanding trainers & special guests. Continuing
across the terms ensures stability in training & rehearsal, and consistency in terms of the guidance & feedback offered, with scenes selected to target specific areas of weakness and strength. The studio also welcomes actors to the program who have not participated in previous terms as they can begin this process, leading to a stronger understanding of the requirements of screen testing.
On the last week of term, students will be able to put their hard work into practice during their screen-testing session with Craig McMahon, Artistic Director of Film & Television Studio International and CEO of top tier theatrical agency McMahon McMahon, together with Leading Casting Director, Nathan Lloyd from Nathan Lloyd Casting. This is an incredible opportunity for our actors to meet and greet Nathan and to recieve direction and personal feedback on their work. He is very much looking forward to seeing the wonderful talent we
have at Film & Television Studio International.

"The casting is thrilling – Sarah Snook and Benedict Samuel are brilliant, ditto Rodger Corser – and also a little adventurous. Slotting the usually comic Gina Riley into a serious role is a gamble that pays big dividends.”
Sydney Morning Herald - THE BEAUTIFUL LIE (ABC)
"So rarely in Australian TV do we see well written character collide with dead-on casting and tense, atmospheric direction.”
The Age - WENTWORTH (Foxtel)
“an extraordinary female ensemble.”
The Age - WENTWORTH (Foxtel)
"Pamela Rabe is a remarkable addition to the amazing cast for Wentworth.”
Inside Film - WENTWORTH (Foxtel)
"While with lesser actors it could play out as an irony-free Almodóvar movie, the genius of the production is to have cast actors most known for their stage work in the crucial roles.”
The Guardian - WENTWORTH (Foxtel)
“The casting… is masterful, especially McQuade, who has the uncanny look of someone who should have been cast in Prisoner.”
Herald Sun - WENTWORTH (Foxtel)
“A warm, madcap, razor-sharp scripted look at class and common ground…the entire cast is top class.”
Empire Magazine - UPPER MIDDLE BOGAN (ABC)
“Cast perfectly and the writing is spot-on…very funny ensemble comedy.”
Sydney Morning Herald - UPPER MIDDLE BOGAN (ABC)
“….a pitch-perfect cast, including the wonderful Patrick Brammall, a feisty Michala Banas and Robyn Nevin. I can't even tell you how good she is.”
The Age - UPPER MIDDLE BOGAN (ABC)
“Another genius is in the casting… kid ensemble of Little Lunch manages an authenticity that’s vital to the show’s success – and by dropping you straight in the “kid logic” headspace, the looniest things become acceptable.”
The Guardian - LITTLE LUNCH
Indeed, one of the pleasures here is the quality of the cast.
Sydney Morning Herald - HALIFAX Retribution (NINE)
