EQUESTRIAN VICTORIA NEWSWelcome to AutumnCEO UpdateThe first few months has been a steep learning curve, but one thing has resonated with me that being the energy and dedication that goes into the running of major events such as Barastoc, DJWTS and Interschool. The hard work of the various organising committees, volunteers, officials, sponsors, parents, competitors - the list goes on - is a credit to the Equestrian Victoria community. The camaraderie, team work and attitude toward 'getting the job done' is truly impressive and testament to the strength of the sport in Victoria. I would like to thank everyone involved and encourage others to participate and volunteer when you have the opportunity. THIS GIRL CAN VicHealth is encouraging women to visit the This Girl Can website and share their stories about how they get motivated, what kind of activities they enjoy, and the moments where they’ve thought “I don’t give a damn – I’m doing it anyway!” CITY OF CASEY EQUESTRIAN WORKSHOP EV advocates and supports the development of appropriate equestrian industry facilities. We are proud to have participated in meetings with both HRCAV and PCAV, to explore how the associations can work together for the common good of all Equestrian sport in Victoria. Until next issue, safe riding. Matthew Brown Julius L Patching Sports Official of the YearWe wish Lindy the very best of luck! UPCOMING MAJOR EVENTSaddleworld Melbourne 3 Day
Our event is gearing up for another great competition over the June Queen’s Birthday weekend. The event could not run without the amazing support that we get from volunteers. If you are able to help with this year’s event please fill out a volunteer form by clicking on the button below. Eventing LevyThe investment in safety has seen approximately $78,000 spent by the Victorian Eventing Trust since last February on updating our cross country fences. We held a great safety seminar at Werribee in February thanks to Roger Kane & Ewan Kellett for sharing their expertise, Judy Croagh for organising and all the participants for attending. QualificationsIt is the riders’ responsibility when entering an event to make sure they are registered & qualified. In 2018 the rules changed for 105 to say that you need 3 x 95 mers as a combination in order to enter an EvA105, (If you have 15 mers at 105 or above you can enter a horse without this requirement). Also, we still have horses entered without registration numbers … all horses competing 95 or above must be registered. FEI registration is due at the start of the calendar year. Download and have a read of pages 41-47 of the EVENTING RULES to give you an idea of qualification requirements for various levels.
