COVID-19 Vaccines: Australian Government Department of Health Disability Provider Alert (16 April 2021)

The Australian Government Department of Health (Department of Health) has today issued a Disability Provider Alert with updated information for disability providers.

Key points

• People with disability living in residential accommodation of two or more people and staff, eligible under phase 1A of the vaccine rollout, are a priority group.
• National Cabinet is meeting next week to provide further guidance on the COVID-19 vaccine rollout.
• People with disability who have had the first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine without serious adverse effects can safely be given the second dose.

The Department of Health has today issued a COVID-19 vaccination – Disability Provider Alert 16 April 2021.

The Australian Government is reviewing the COVID-19 vaccination program rollout. Information will continue to be updated with the new rollout details as it becomes available.
