Dear Supporter,

Thank you to all who attended our Centenary Dinner at Liverpool’s Merseyside Maritime Museum. It was a great event raising vital funds for a local welfare project.

We are now gearing up for our second Centenary Celebration Dinner and look forward to welcoming our guests at Guildhall in London next week.

We also have lots of events coming up in April, including the Tall Ships Festival and the Virgin Money London Marathon. Thank you to all who are taking part and, with just a month to go, we wish good luck to our dedicated marathon runners with their training!

Best wishes,

School kids: how do you think that banana got into your lunch box?

In the run up to Seafarers Awareness Week, 24-30 June, Seafarers UK has partnered with Fyffes to provide free materials for primary schools to teach children that bananas are available in the UK only thanks to the Merchant Navy.

The fun and engaging materials show how cartoon character Freddy Fyffes travels by ship from a farm faraway to UK greengrocers and supermarkets. Find out more.
