During her time at the Association Tisha has worked diligently with businesses and the City to help develop Downtown St. Catharines into what it is today – a vibrant area where people can shop at unique stores, socialize at its many restaurants, and catch a show at the PAC or a game at the Meridian Centre. “I am extremely honoured to have taken part and been able to experience the amazing transformation our downtown core has taken over my time at the Association. I have been fortunate to have met and worked with so many amazing people during my time at the St. Catharines Downtown Association and made some enduring friendships along the way.” Downtown Association Chair Robin McPherson said the Association will miss Tisha’s energy and dedication to promote and support downtown. “Tisha has always been at the table with City staff and council, representing our diverse downtown businesses. During her 21 years, the downtown has seen many positive changes because of her commitment and efforts.” Tisha is retiring at the end of July to spend more time with her family and continue her studies in Egyptology. “I will certainly miss many aspects of the job and the Downtown Association overall, but am looking forward to retirement and what lies ahead for me”, Polocko said. The St. Catharines Downtown Association will be actively looking to fill the Executive Director position over the next few months.
