Monitoring Steel Corrosion in Reinforced Concrete

www.castle-electrodes.com

Welcome to the first Newsletter from Castle Electrodes. We manufacture reference electrodes for the construction industry to help monitor corrosion activity in reinforced concrete.

Our range of units includes manganese dioxide, silver/silver chloride, MMO coated titanium, zinc and graphite.

Our website provides detailed information about our range of electrodes and recommends recent publications and technical standards on the subject.

We provide free technical advice to help you select the correct reference electrode for the operating environment. Our electrodes are designed to comply with international standards and with 25 years experience supplying worldwide you can order with confidence.

Please take time to visit our website or why not email us with your specific requirements.

Our Range of Electrodes

Manganese Dioxide Electrodes

Based on battery technology this  electrode will provide a stable potential reference for over 50 years. It has a 3 D contact surface to ensure good contact with the concrete and can be supplied so that the cable can be attached on site which minimises storage and shipment costs.

Ag/AgCl/0.5M KCl

We have been supplying these for over 25 years with 3 different sizes available to suit specific needs. The electrodes are fully compliant with ISO12696:2016 and suitable for installation in atmospherically exposed concrete.

Combined Reference Electrode

This is a unique reference electrode where we combine our RB15 manganese dioxide or LD15 silver/silver chloride reference electrode with a mixed metal oxide coated titanium sleeve. With a twin core cable tail both steel potential and current flow can be measured using the one unit.

MMO Reference Electrode

This is a mixed metal oxide coated titanium rod with a single core double insulated cable tail. The titanium is high purity ASTM B348 Grade 1. It can be used as a pseudo reference electrode for monitoring impressed current cathodic protection systems.
