QORF eNews January 2017 No Images? Click here Big news from QORF this month - Visioning the Outdoors has a new website. And this one looks great on your phone and tablet too! The competition is now OPEN and images and films have already started to roll in. So don't delay - get your entries in soon! ![]() Words are important. Words are tools that allow us to communicate. The right group of words at the right time is a mighty powerful thing. The wrong words at the wrong time is literally a different story. For 2017, we will be highlighting outdoor words in our newsletters. “Petrichor” seemed an apt word to commence this series, given Queensland’s summer weather patterns. There are currently several opportunities to use words for the good of our communities by making submissions to government in response to decisions or requests for feedback (details of current opportunities feature in this eNews). As the peak body for outdoor recreation in Queensland, QORF will make submissions where relevant. QORF is a member-based organisation, and our submissions must reflect the stated values and mission of the organisation. To add depth to QORF’s submissions and to have your concerns reflected in QORF’s wording, you can provide feedback to us in relation to a particular issue – please get in touch. To add volume to QORF’s voice, you can make your own submission directly – that process can be as simple as completing an on-line survey (which we know everyone loves to do) or sending a letter/email. The quote “A picture is worth a thousand words” is attributed to many people, probably because it is true. You have the opportunity to paint thousands of words through QORF’s Visioning the Outdoors Film & Photo Competition. If you want to hear some terrific words about fun and children playing outdoors, please consider joining us at the Nature Play QLD Symposium, “Just for the FUN of it” in March – buy your tickets now!
